Baring It All for Charity

Never miss a glorious update - click here!

This may prove to be my favorite blog post yet—not necessarily because I’ll be giving you a great workout (although I might), but because of the content of this particular post, and what we have a chance to do.

You see, I was raised to believe that your measure will be taken not by what you have, but by what you do, and in this blog I want to share an opportunity with you to do something truly, truly great.

I want to ask you for a favor.  But before I do that, I want to let you know how much I appreciate being able to ask.  I value my readers, all of you, SO much.  I cannot thank you enough for letting me into your lives, for visiting this blog, and for allowing me to share with you the information that I do.

So, thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for providing me a forum to ask this favor of you.

With that, I’d like you to watch this short video.

For those who haven’t heard of it, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed whole-heartedly to funding the MOST promising research to find cures for childhood cancers.  Their goal is not only to aid in the research that will eventually cure such diseases, but also to aid in helping survivors live long and healthy lives.

Each year, over 160,000 children worldwide are diagnosed with Cancer—and Caner is the number one killer of kids in the US and Canada.  Truly, this is grim stuff.

That said, St. Baldrick’s Day itself it not some maudlin event filled with an overwhelming sense of sadness; rather it is a FUN, exciting, energy filled event, with locations around the country brimming with people who can’t wait to do their part to aid in what way they can.

And I hope you feel that same energy, and want to help by donating just a few dollars to help me meet this ambitious goal.

Truth be told, $10,000 sounds like a lot of money, but I KNOW that we can do this.  We can place a very large drop in this bucket, and help the thousands of other people around the world battling against the scourge of Cancer.

Now, I would love to send you as many workout from as many fitness pros as I can—so while you’re doing your part by donating, I will be doing my part to aggressively pursue all of my fitness buddies to make sure they hook you up.

Please, if you can help, ANYTHING helps.

By helping to the tune of just $15 (less than the cost of dinner in just about any restaurant you’d consider eating at), you will be getting a SICK bunch of workouts by some of the best fitness professionals in the world.

And, while it should go without saying…

100% of everything you donate goes to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

This is just my small way of helping how I can.  Thank you for reading, and thank you for donating.

Congratulations on your success with St Baldrick's ... :O) ... I know you're still taking donations but do you do this every year? ... How about organising a "Roman Fitness Systems event" for next year?

I came to your site to check out winning a free copy of FinalPhase2.0 and after seeing this blog I will buy it. I had no idea you were doing this. My daughter (13 years old)was diagnosised with Leukemia last year she is halfway through treatment (yay). Thank you for bringing awareness to people who without you would have no idea of this wonderful foundation

Great cause Roman, and it really struck a cord with me as I recently lost my Mother to an extremely aggressive form of cancer this past December. She battled like a warrior for 10 weeks before succumbing on Dec. 19th, and just wanted to say "Thanks" for articulating and putting this together. Definitely donating and talk soon, Mike (I met you at the Continuity Summit last year w/ my girlfriend Laura, Vince Delm., Joel, Sam Bak, etc....we hit up a leg workout at NYSC in Conn, good stuff -- keep up the awesome work)

Hey man, 6k in two weeks is fantastic. These kids are very lucky to have someone as passionate and loving as yourself to look out for them. We have your back!

Very cool man. Of course we'll help out. Would it be ok if I waited until May to shave my golden bangs? I need to look sharp for some job interviews I have coming up and I'm afraid I might scare someone (probably just myself) if I show up like Bruce Willis.

Well I turn my back for a moment and look what you go and do with the place! The new look site rocks Roman. Noice! We have something similar in Australia for the Leukemia Foundation called "World's Greatest Shave" running about the week before St Baldrick's Day. It's a fun, popular event and a great way to raise funds and awareness (those who don't quite have the courage to shave their head can dye their hair outrageous colours as an alternative). So good on you for taking part. Your target fund raising goal is phenomenal and humbling as a charitable donation. I hope you make it and then some! To that end I've made a small contribution (gotta love parity between our dollars). Not as much as I'd like but it's been a big year so far for digging deep for worthy causes: disaster relief funds following catastrophic floods in my home city, a monster cyclone in the north of state and now the devastating earthquake in Christchurch NZ. You just hope that you can make a small difference in someone's devastated life even if just for a small moment. Same deal applies here. Good luck - will look forward to the result. PS. I wonder if you will end up looking like the world's fittest roll-on deodorant? :-)

Just made a small donation, wish I could afford more but being a college student sucks :P There's no events to shave heads here in France (at least I don't think so) so not do it by myself lol! Stay awesome Roman, hopefully one day, I'll be half as awesome as you!

Hey mate, Would love to give to this, I think it is awesome. GREAT post. For those of us who would happily persuade our board to send to some company funds your way, and who don't like using paypal.... may I recommend a crowdrise.com set up for you? Makes it very easy to donate or share. :) C

Hey Roman, Great post and cause. I'm a mastermind client with Bedros and would love to help. My niche is different than yours, (fitness for women over 40) but if I can provide some free workouts for those that donate, I'd be happy to do what I can.

Whoa, FPFL 2 is coming out? I've been through your first one three times already with fantastic results. Problem is that every time I finish, I look around for other programs for a few weeks before starting yours again. Started Vinny's NNMB a couple weeks ago. It's not nearly as fun, though. :( Sorry if that was off-topic. Good luck on the donations. You'll hit that goal, no problem.

This is a great post, Roman. I keep my hair pretty short (shave weekly), but I might grow it out until the 18th for a brumance shave. :P New layout = yesplz. -Tony

Roman, Great post! I love that you are raising money for such a great cause! I am a huge fan of your work and have followed you for a while now. Love the new design of your blog too. I will post this on my facebook page in hopes of getting you some more donations. I have planned on getting your final phase fat loss product for a while now and I think this is the best opportunity to do so. So I am offering you a $150 donation for final phase fat loss, which is actually ony $137. Keep up the great work

Donated. I think I'm going to blog about this myself and link to this page to help and get the word out. This kind of hits home with me as I lost my older brother to cancer when I was twelve. No kid should have to go through what he did. Oh, and the site is looking smooth. Is Jason your designer?

Thank you so much for donating Andrew, and thank you for the kind words. I really do care about these causes, and I want to do my best to support them. I think $10,000 is a good start. Glad you like the site! Some really cool updates to come!

Roman, it is great that you promote great stuff like this. It sets you apart from other people, which does increase your awesomeness. There are no events in my neck of the woods (I checked on their website), so I will be donating here. I wish that there was a shaving by me because there is no shame in going all out for a good cause. You have highlighted autism in the past, and now childhood cancer. I am proud to call friends several cancer survivors, and victims of cancer, and a couple of children with autism. It really is great to see how much other people really care, too. I really do hope you raise the money for your goal. On another note, I love the new website. When I clicked on my email link I thought that it took me to the wrong site at first. Then I saw your "rescue something cute & fluffy" face and I knew I was in the right place.

Yessir, I'll be shaving my dome. Buzzing it down to a number 1 on a clippers, and I'll have a video and the whole deal. Ideally I'll raise all the money intended, and present one of those giant novelty checks =)
